Andy Bannister

Andy is an itinerant speaker for RZIM Canada and an Associate of RZIM Zacharias Trust. He is also a visiting lecturer for the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics, the London School of Theology, and Wycliffe Hall, Oxford. With a background in youth ministry before studying theology and philosophy, Andy has engaged in apologetics in a wide variety of settings. He has worked with churches and organisations across the denominational spectrum, including L'Abri, the European Leadership Forum, and New Word Alive, where he has designed and run the Islamic apologetics workshops for the past few years.

Michael Green

Michael Green is one of the world's leading evangelists, and was for many years a Senior Research Fellow at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford University. He taught Evangelism, Apologetics, and New Testament Studies at Wycliffe, was Principal of St John's College, Nottingham, was Rector of St Aldate's Church, Oxford, was Professor of Evangelism at Regent College, Vancouver, and is currently the Chaplain for the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics. He has written a vast number of books, and those on apologetics include The Books the Church Suppressed, But Don't All Religions Lead to God, and I'd Like to Believe, But...

J. John

J. John is the Director of Philo Trust, an organization that seeks to show how faith in Jesus Christ is not only reasonable, but relevant and vitally important. He is one of the most creative Christian speakers engaged in evangelism today and has completed thousands of speaking engagements at conferences, towns, cities, and universities in 54 countries on 6 continents. He addresses over 300,000 people each year, and reaches many more through TV, radio, books, CDs and DVDs. He has authored 21 titles, including The Life, and Walking with God and there are over a million copies of his books in print in thirteen languages.

John Lennox

John Lennox is Professor of Mathematics at Oxford University, and Adjunct Professor at the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics. He is also a Fellow in Mathematics and Philosophy of Science at Green Templeton College, Oxford. Interested in the interface of science, philosophy, and theology, he lectures worldwide and has written books on Christian apologetics, including God's Undertaker, Has Science Buried God? and Christianity: Opium or Truth? (the latter co-authored with David Gooding). In the past two years, Professor Lennox has debated a number of the world's leading atheists including Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens.

Alister McGrath

Alister McGrath is Professor of Theology, Ministry, and Education at King's College, London, Senior Research Fellow at Harris Manchester College, Oxford, and President of the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics. He travels extensively to speak at conferences and missions. His writings include his acclaimed book on apologetics, Bridge Building, his widely popular Christian Theology: An Introduction and various titles on science and religion, such as A Fine Tuned Universe and The Open Secret: A New Vision for Natural Theology. He has also written a number of titles on atheism including Dawkins' God, The Dawkins Delusion? and The Twilight of Atheism.

John Njoroge

John Njoroge is an apologist with RZIM based in Atlanta. He is a summa cum laude graduate of Talbot School of Theology, Biola University in La Mirada, California, and earned his undergraduate degree from Philadelphia Biblical University. Before embarking on his studies in the USA, John worked with street and slum children in Nairobi, assisting in recruitment and teaching sixth graders at a mission school started for such children. He has served on church staff in Kenya and the USA. John has organised and led leadership training conferences in Kenya and raised funds for wells and other relief projects there.

Amy Orr-Ewing

Amy Orr-Ewing is the Training Director of the RZIM Zacharias Trust and Director of Programmes for the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics. She speaks at many universities, churches, and conferences. Her book Why Trust the Bible? (published as Is the Bible Intolerant? in North America) was shortlisted for the 2006 UK Christian Book Awards, and But Is It Real? (published as Is Believing in God Irrational? in North America) was released in the summer of 2008. Amy has co-authored with her husband Frog Orr-Ewing Deep and Holy Warriors: A Fresh Look at the Face of Extreme Islam.

Frog Orr-Ewing

Frog Orr-Ewing was appointed Vicar of All Saints Church, Peckham (inner city London) in 2002. At that time he was the youngest incumbent in the Church of England. Since then the congregation has experienced rapid growth through conversion amongst urban youth, children, and adults. He worked in London before his ordination, and spent three years in Oxford as curate at St. Aldate's Church. He has an MTh from Oxford and is currently working on a London University doctorate. He is co-author with his wife, Amy Orr-Ewing, of Deep and Holy Warriors: A Fresh Look at the Face of Extreme Islam.

Tom Price

Tom Price is an Academic Tutor at the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics, an Associate of RZIM Zacharias Trust, and an independent itinerant evangelist/apologist. He studied Philosophy at university and later completed an MA in Christian Apologetics. Before studying for his Masters, Tom worked for the University and Colleges Christian Fellowship as the founding editor of their apologetics website (www.bethinking.org). Currently, as well as his work with the OCCA, Tom is also involved with Damaris - an educational charity that seeks to help people across the world explore spiritual and moral issues underlying their contemporary culture.

Michael Ramsden

Michael Ramsden has been European Director of RZIM Zacharias Trust since its foundation in 1997. He is also Director of the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics and Lecturer in Christian Apologetics at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford. While at Sheffield University doing research in Law and Economics, Michael taught Moral Philosophy and lectured for the International Seminar on Jurisprudence and Human Rights in Strasbourg. He has been invited to lecture in settings from Madrassas in Pakistan, to the White House staff in Washington, D.C., and has addressed leaders at NATO HQ in Brussels and Members of the European Parliament.

Thomas Tarrants

Tom Tarrants is President of the C.S. Lewis Institute, based in Washington, D.C. He directs the Institute's Fellows Program and lectures in practical theology, with special focus on biblical discipleship, and spiritual formation & mentoring. He was previously co-pastor of Christ Our Shepherd Church in Washington, D.C. Prior to 1970, Tom was deeply involved in terrorist activities, for which he spent eight years in prison. While reading the Gospels in prison, he experienced a life-changing conversion to Jesus Christ. Tom is the author of The Conversion of a Klansman and is co-author, with Dr. John Perkins, of He's My Brother.

Ravi Zacharias

Ravi Zacharias is President of RZIM. He has spoken in over 50 countries and in many universities, such as Harvard, Princeton, and Oxford. He has addressed writers of the peace accord in South Africa, the presidential cabinet and parliament in Peru, and officers at the Lenin Military Academy in Moscow. Ravi has also spoken at the National Day of Prayer in Washington, D.C., the Pentagon, and twice at the United Nations Annual Prayer Breakfast. He has written numerous books, including the Gold Medallion winner, Can Man Live Without God. His weekly radio program, Let My People Think, is aired on almost 1700 outlets worldwide.

The RZIM Zacharias Trust Summer School will be held in one of the oldest colleges of Oxford University - Queen's College. This striking Oxford College is situated in the heart of the city on one of Oxford's oldest roads - the High Street. The magnificent Radcliffe Camera, Sheldonian Theatre, Bodleian Library, and Bridge of Sighs are all just a few minutes walk away, as are the Botanical Gardens, Magdalen College, and the University Examination Schools. Originally named the Hall of the Queen's Scholars at Oxford, the college is the sixth oldest and was founded in 1341 by Robert de Eglesfield, a chaplain in the household of Queen Philippa, who named it in her honour.

The magnificent Library, one of the finest in England, was added during 1693-96 to house Bishop Thomas Barlow's (Provost 1658-77) collection of books. I houses around 100,000 volumes and boasts one of the most diverse collections of rare books in Oxford. The front quad has been called 'the grandest piece of classical architecture in Oxford' and the chapel, one of Oxford's most notable buildings, has stood virtually unchanged since it was consecrated by Archbishop of York in 1719. One of the most famous figures in the history of the church, John Wycliffe, studied at Queen's in the fourteenth century. Wycliffe, on of the forerunners to the reformation, argued for sweeping reform of the church and is perhaps most famous for translating the Bible into English.

The standard cost of the Summer School is £1,290 per person. This price includes lodging in Queen's College, all meals, refreshments, tuition, and materials. Most delegates will be accommodated in standard single rooms within Queen's College. Each room has a private shower and toilet.

The cost of the Summer School for a married couple is £2,425 per couple (constitutes a £155 reduction per couple). This price includes double/twin room lodging in Queen's College, all meals, refreshments, tuition, and materials. Each room has a private shower and toilet.

The price of the Summer School for non-residential participants is £1,080 per person. This price includes lunch, dinner, refreshments, tuition, and materials. Those selecting this option must arrange their own lodging and pay any charges directly to the establishment (in addition to the Summer School fee).

Registration

New process for 2010
Registration has changed slightly this year - we hope for the better. Last year we were bombarded with problems from card issuing banks rejecting the online payments during registration, all the banks were tightening up online security checks - which is great for you in the long-run, but a real pain during registration.

Therefore, all payments are to be made over the telephone direct with our office in the UK - This is the preferred option by the banks, so should make payment simple.

Registration for this event is free, the table for selecting your residential option is at the top of this page. By completing the online registration form you reserve your place for 7-days. NOTE: Your place is not secured until your deposit of £300 per person is paid.

Telephone our office to pay your deposit

To secure your reservation you will need to telephone our office and pay the minimum of the deposit of £300 per person by credit card. We will hold your reservation for 7-days, if after this period we have not received your deposit then the reservation will be released.

3.

Pay Final Balance

If you chose only to pay the deposit for your place, then the final remaining balance is due by the 1-May-2010. We will contact you 2 weeks before this deadline as a reminder. You will need to telephone our office to authorise the payment of the remaining balance.
